BTCC Calendar 2024: Every Round, Date and Venue in One Place

The 2024 British Touring Car Championship ran across 10 event weekends between April and October, with three races at each meeting for a total of 30 races. Rounds were held at Donington Park, Brands Hatch (both the Indy and Grand Prix circuits), Thruxton, Oulton Park, Croft, Snetterton and Knockhill. The championship opened at Donington Park at the end of April and closed with the traditional Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit finale in October. Here is every event weekend and the rounds it covered.

As with every recent season, the format was three races per Sunday: a straight grid based on qualifying, a second race with a partly reversed grid, and a third race with a reversed grid position drawn from the top finishers. That reverse-grid quirk is a big part of why BTCC racing is so unpredictable — a driver can win from the front and still get shuffled back for race three.

Where the 2024 BTCC rounds were held

Seven venues shared the ten weekends, with Thruxton and Brands Hatch each hosting twice. If you are deciding which circuit to visit, here is the quick character guide.

• Donington Park — fast, flowing and with the amphitheatre-like Craner Curves. Good spectator banking and easy to reach off the M1/A50.
• Brands Hatch (Indy) — the short 1.2 km loop, so cars come round frequently and you can see most of the lap from one spot.
• Thruxton — the fastest circuit in the UK. Very high average speeds and hard on tyres, which produces big race-three surprises.
• Oulton Park — a scenic Cheshire parkland track with gradient and blind crests.
• Croft — North Yorkshire's home round, mixing quick sweepers with a tight complex.
• Snetterton — Norfolk's 300 layout, long straights and heavy braking zones.
• Knockhill — Scotland's only round, compact, undulating and great value.
• Silverstone (National) — the shorter National layout used by the BTCC, fast and open.
• Brands Hatch (GP) — the full 3.7 km Grand Prix loop for the finale, with the plunge down to Hawthorn and the long run through the woods.

How a BTCC race day works

Almost all BTCC action for spectators happens on the Sunday, with the three races usually spread through the afternoon. Saturday is largely practice and qualifying, plus support races. The full weekend package normally includes a busy support bill — the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, Ginetta championships, Mini Challenge and F4 typically share the day — so a general admission ticket buys a lot of on-track time.

A few practical pointers for a first visit:

• Arrive early. Circuit car parks and access roads get busy well before the first race; gates often open around 07:00–08:00.
• Bring ear protection. Touring cars are loud, and the support races add to it. If circuits publish noise limits, they are usually for track days rather than race meetings — race days run louder.
• Walk the circuit. Most venues let you move between spectator areas, so try more than one corner across the day.
• Under-13s often go free. Ticket policies vary by circuit and by advance versus on-the-gate pricing, so check the specific venue before you travel.

Ticket prices and how to check them

BTCC ticket prices are set by each circuit rather than by the championship, so they vary by venue and by whether you buy in advance. As a rough guide from recent seasons, an adult advance Sunday ticket has typically fallen in the region of £30–£45, with weekend and grandstand upgrades costing more, and children's tickets often free or heavily reduced. Prices change year to year, so always confirm on the official circuit website before booking — we do not publish figures we cannot verify.
